Richard Mackey

Richard Mackey brings over 20 years of trading, operations and management experience in the financial futures and securities industry to his role as Managing Director. Rich began his career as a broker in the Chicago Board of Trade’s Ten-Year Note pit, where he executed orders for institutional customers and investment banks including Salomon Brothers. In 2002, Rich left the trading floor to join Rosenthal Collins Group as a fixed income trader. In 2006, he transitioned to RCG’s Risk Department, where he supervised all risk management functions. As Senior Vice President of Risk, Rich put in place enhanced daily senior management reporting and he also helped develop industry-leading risk and fixed income valuation software. 

In 2012 Rich joined Peak6 Advisors as the Treasurer of its hedge fund operations. He was a key member of the logistics team that helped facilitate the Peak 6 Achievement fund’s growth in less than two years from its $150 million launch to $2 billion in assets under management. Rich oversaw the fund’s PB allocation, stock loan, FX hedging and financing in addition to providing margin review, and cash and collateral management. 

Rich returned to RCG in 2014 As President of its FICC fixed income group and futures trading operations. He oversaw the management of over 60 trading and 

management staff. In 2019 Bakkt a subsidy of the ICE exchange acquired RCG’s clearing license, clearing infrastructure and 20 team members. As President of Bakkt Clearing Rich played an instrument role in Bakkt’s Bitcoin futures launch.
